Peanut, Puddin’ n’ Jelly Celebrate 10 Years.

Wow, to think it has been 10 years since Issue # 1 of Peanut, Puddin’ n’ Jelly was released.

Way back when Rodney spent way too many hours hand-coloring each page with colored pencils. Since that first issue, PPn’J has enjoyed five more issues and gained a group of faithful fans and followers.

For those of you who have not read Issue # 1, PPn’J is a semi-autobiographical story. All issues are written by Rodney. He drew from childhood experiences growing up in Evansville, Indiana to create the neighborhood for the gang. As a child, Rodney spent hours playing and creating worlds with his overactive imagination. He then took those memories and real-life adventures with his friends to create the stories you find in the books.

While crime-fighting was not one of Rodney’s childhood hobbies, he was always sticking up for his older brother who the character Jelly is based on in the stories. Jelly’s character is mentally challenged and faces difficulties as well as bullying when interacting with the other kids in the neighborhood. However, Jelly is usually the one that comes up with the best plan to save the day.
